Terra Ferra

Nordsbocca is a Italianate city state dominating the only practical route through the Great Mountains. This small but rich city controls all trade through the mountain range and is notationally a canton of the 'Helvetian League', however as communications between the bulk of the League and Nordsbocco is poor, even by the Great Mountains standards, Nordsbocca tends to follow its own course.

While not part of the Eastern Empire nor Germanic it favours the status quo, preferring to negotiate with smaller states rather than one large centralised state.

The internal politics of Nordsbocca are a Byzantine oligarchy which is not without internal dissenters, normally from those families currently excluded from office. Currently the major opposition to the current holders of office are the Figgibicci family.
